Patients can end up completely without teeth later in life due to many reasons; the most common cause is the need for removal of all teeth because of dental disease typically liked to tooth decay caused by periodontal disease and oral flora control. Among these reasons, include other less likely causes like tooth developmental deficiencies, which is typically caused by severe levels of malnutrition, drug use, trauma and genetic defects.
Most people are well aware that regular dental checkups are essential to maintaining a healthy smile and strong teeth. Well, the same is true for dentures. If you have false teeth, it’s important to know that regular dental checkups are a must. If you wear dentures, you too are supposed to schedule checkups with a prosthodontist to check you dentures on a regular basis.

The reason why it’s a good idea to have your dentures checked often, in fact, perhaps even more important than a normal dental visit, is that over time, even the ideal fit denture for your gums can become shaky and feel lose. This is a natural process and nothing to worry too much about. Dentures can become lose in time due to natural aging. There is nothing wrong per say, this is merely due to the natural shrinking of gum tissue as you get older. Usually with the lower denture you will start to feel some movement as your false teeth begin to shift about. Loosening of dentures can even lead to elimination of certain foods from your diet due to discomfort, which could impact your good health.

During each checkup your dental specialist will ask you about the stability, comfort and chewing strength of your dentures. He or she will check the foundation, the health of you gums, which is what denture stability is dependent on. During your denture relining and checkup your denturist will make sure to see if the is gum damage due to denture rubbing against your gums. In addition, the prosthodontist will look for scratches or cracks or any signs of infection in your false teeth. Each check up will most likely be a simple case of relining your false teeth to get back the natural, perfect fit. Most problems can be fixed well before they develop into major issues, but it all starts scheduling a checkup with your dentist at least once a year.

I Want My Hair Back!

I was trying to find numerous ways to cure my hair loss problems. Being a naive person back then, I always thought that reversing Male Pattern Baldness was easy and all that you will need is to buy a tonic and use the right shampoo. Oh boy, I can never be more wrong than that. I tried an endless list of shampoos, hair growth tonics, and even dabbed alcohol on my scalp hoping that it will in any logical way help the hairs to sprout. I even tried coconut oils, drinking a concoction of herbal preparations and other health supplements with no success.

After failing to grow hair with these methods, I’ve decided to get a little more serious about treating my hair. Being an optimist, I seeked a hair specialist centre with the confidence that they will surely fix my hair this time. They are pros anyway or so I thought. I made an appointment with a trichologist who inspected my hair with a magnification apparatus and told me that my hair was too oily and my unhealthy lifestyle was the causes of my hair loss. Long story short I spent quite a bit of money, used all sorts of smelly products, and fifteen weeks later, there was no results and no chance for results.

So now I am looking into hair transplant surgery. I have met with two different physicians and liked what I heard from both. Now my only decision is to pick the one I like the best. They both have excellent references and successful results. I am going to look at all the before and after photos from each again and see if that helps me decide. Hope nobody else has to waste so much time and money like I did.

Pursuing dental contouring procedures to improve your appearance and oral health is an available option when using the many excellent dentists in Nottingham. Your total oral health depends in large part upon maintaining the healthy condition of your gums. The gums are especially important to your dental health and overall appearance, as they actually frame and hold your teeth in place. If the gums are not in the proper condition to hold your teeth as they should with their proper shape and colour, one of your options is to consider the process of gum contouring, or reshaping, to bring about the desired changes.

Healthy gum tissue is the goal of a gum contouring procedure. Experiencing healthy, symmetrically positioned gums and teeth is extremely important to the appearance of the teeth, smile and oral cavity generally. When gum tissue is inflamed, red and puffy, its appearance detracts from surrounding teeth that are otherwise adjacent to and framed by the unhealthy gum tissue. In addition to issues of colouration in the tissues, gum tissue should also be retained symmetrically around the teeth it frames.

Before any contouring procedures take place, the gums must be returned to their original healthy state, in order to reduce any existing inflammation; the outcome should be light pink in colour; that will show up in the smile The gum tissue showing across the front of the mouth should be even and likewise should measure evenly along the top and bottom teeth so that when you view your smile, you not only see striking white teeth, but also healthy pink gums draped in a symmetrical manner along each tooth.

Improving your appearance and overall dental health through the procedure of gum contouring is an appealing way to give your smile a fresh, new look, improve your self image and make you look younger and healthier!
