Primary infertility is the term used to describe couples who have never ever conceived after having unprotected sex and primary infertility is often diagnosed after one year of regularly trying to conceive.

Primary infertility leave couples unhappy and is often not as recognised because the couple already have children and want more children however it is just as upsetting and difficult time for couples. It is important to note that that if you are trying to conceive a baby a healthy diet should be maintained and treatments such as laser hair removal or laser tattoo removal may need to be avoided.

Primary infertility affects women as sometimes the egg will be unable to attach to the uterus lining and the woman may be unable to produce eggs due to clotting disorders or heavy alcohol use.  There are many treatments available for primary infertility such as IVF and artificial insemination which can aid in treating infertility by increasing the chances of conception. Other options include adoption and fostering which enables the couple to provide a home for the baby as well as having a baby they have always longed for.  Many couples choose to foster or adopt children if they are diagnosed as being infertile.
